What is a credit, how does subscriptions work and how much will it cost

What is a document?

A document is an email, an attachment to an email, or a file directly uploaded to the app (such as a PDF, Excel, etc.).

For example, if you send an email with a PDF attached, Parseur will treat them as two separate documents.

How do I upgrade my subscription to a paid plan?

You can upgrade your subscription by clicking on Account Settings > Change Plan while on the home page. Direct link: https://app.parseur.com/account/plan

What's the difference between monthly and yearly plans?

Monthly plans require payment each month and do not carry over unused credits. They're best if you're not sure you'll need Parseur all year.

Yearly plans are paid annually, offering longer credit validity and extra discounts. Ideal if you anticipate using Parseur for a year or more.

What is a credit? How does it work?

Parseur's monthly subscriptions are based on a credit quota. A credit is the unit used to calculate your monthly Parseur usage.

The number of credits used is based on the number of pages in a document: 1 credit = 1 page.

Emails and spreadsheets count as a single page and hence cost one credit, irrespective of their length.

Examples:

  • Processing an email will cost 1 credit

  • Processing a 100-line CSV will cost 1 credit

  • Processing a one-page PDF will cost 1 credit

  • Processing a 3-page PDF will cost 3 credits

This means, for example, that you can parse 20 emails per month on the free plan or 20 pages per month.

How do you count my credit usage?

The following actions are counted towards your credit usage:

  • Only the first time you process a document using AI, templates or automatic parsing methods like CSV-parsing or metadata-only parsing

The following activities are NOT counted towards your credit usage:

  • Documents that were not processed

  • Documents that were skipped (either manually, by a template or during post-processing)

  • Documents that were deleted by a template (note that process-then-delete templates still incur charges)

  • Reprocessing an already-processed document using AI, a template or another parsing method like CSV or metadata-only parsing

Where can I find out how many credits were used to parse a document?

You can find how many credits Parseur used for a document in the header section of the page when viewing that document.

Where can I find my current credit usage?

You can find how many credits you used in the current period at the bottom left of your screen, under your name.

Where can I find my historical credit usage?

You can find how many credits you used in the past in the "Invoice and Usage" section of your account: https://app.parseur.com/account/invoices

What happens if I go over my usage limit?

When you reach 90% of your quota, Parseur will inform you by email, inviting you to upgrade to a larger plan or pause your parsing.

When you reach 100% of your quota, Parseur will still accept new documents and set their status to "Quota exceeded". You can either upgrade your plan or wait for your credit to be renewed.

Once your quota is renewed, you can process documents in "Quota exceeded" by using the "Process unprocessed" button in your mailbox.

We will never upgrade you automatically to a more expensive plan. You'll have to do this manually. You can conveniently do that directly from the email notifying you that you have reached 90% of your monthly credit limit.

Can I carry unused credits to the next month?

If you are on a monthly plan, unused credits are not carried over to the next month. Your quota is valid for a month, and any unused credit at the end of your billing period will expire.

If you purchase a yearly plan, your credits will remain valid for a full year.

I have a one-off project. Can I purchase credits without a subscription?

Yes! You can purchase the number of credits you need as part of any subscription and then immediately downgrade back to the Free Plan afterwards.

This way, you will have one month to use all your credits and won't be charged after that.

I ran out of credits on my paid subscription before the end of the period. Can I get an early renewal?

Yes, downgrade to the Free plan and immediately upgrade back to your paid plan. This will give you a renewed quota and a full month to use them.

What methods of payment do you accept?

We accept all major credit and debit cards, including Visa, American Express, and MasterCard.

For Enterprise plans, we also accept PO, SEPA debits, and bank wires.

Can I change my subscription?

Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade your subscription at any time in the app on this page: https://app.parseur.com/account/plan

When changing to a higher tier:

  • Plan change is immediate

  • Parseur will charge you for the full amount of the new plan (no proration)

  • You will receive the full amount of credits given by the new plan, along with any credit you didn't use on the previous plan

  • Parseur will reset your period, giving you a full month to use your new credit quota

When changing to a lower tier

  • Plan change will happen at the next billing cycle

  • You can continue using unused credits from your previous plan until then

Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time in the app by switching back to the free plan on this page: https://app.parseur.com/account/plan

Once cancelled, your subscription will automatically be terminated at the end of the current billing cycle, and no more payments will be due.

Can I delete my account?

Yes, you can completely delete your account at the bottom of this page: https://app.parseur.com/account

Before deleting your account, make sure you have cancelled your paid subscription (if any) and stopped all your auto-forward rules (if any).

Once deleted, data will be immediately and permanently removed, without any possibility of recovering it.

Can I get an invoice?

Yes, you will receive an invoice by email upon successful payment. Click on the "Download as PDF" link in the email.

You will also find a copy of that invoice in your profile, under Invoices & Usage.

Can I set a different billing email address for invoices?

Yes, you can set your billing email address on the billing details page in your account.

How safe is my credit card number?

Very safe. Your payment details are securely stored by our third party payment processor, Stripe. Stripe is a world class payment processor that follows the strictest requirements for security.

I have specific needs in terms of volume, billing or legal.
